Description
El Victron Energy Color GX Control offers intuitive control and monitoring of all products connected to it. The list of Victron products that can be connected is endless: inverters, Multis, Quattros, MPPT 150/70, BMV-600 series, BMV-700 series, Skylla-I, Lynx Ion and many more.
VRM Online Portal
In addition to monitoring and controlling products in the Color Control GX, the information is also sent to our free remote monitoring website: the VRM Online Portal. So you can get an idea of what the VRM online portal is like, visit https://vrm.victronenergy.com, and use the “Take a look inside” button. The portal does not have any type of cost. Below in this data sheet you can also see the screenshot of the kWh panel.
Future features
- The CCGX has endless possibilities. Implementing and making all our ideas a reality will take years. Therefore, many features are not yet available. Features marked “Future function” will be available later with various firmware updates. These firmware updates will be free of charge, as are firmware updates for all Victron products. Updating the product is easy: the CCGX updates automatically when connected to the Internet. Manual updates can be carried out with USB flash drives or SD cards. Compatible products
- Multis and Quattros, including three-phase and split-phase systems. Monitoring and control (On/Off and current limiter). Changing settings is not yet possible.
- BlueSolar MPPT 150/70 and MPPT 150/85. The current solar output can be seen on the summary screen, and all parameters are recorded in the VRM Online Portal. Remember that the VRM App shows an attractive summary with the data of the BlueSolar MPPT 150/70. If several BlueSolar MPPT with VE.Can are used in parallel, the Color Control will display all the information together. See also our blog on synchronizing various MPPT 150/70 solar chargers.
- BlueSolar MPPT solar chargers with VE.Direct port (70/15, 75/15, 100/15, 100/30, 75/50, 100/50, 150/35) can connect to the VE.Direct ports of the CCGX. Multiple solar chargers can be connected at the same time. They will appear as a separate solar charger in the device list.
- The BMV-700 family can connect directly to the VE.Direct ports of the CCGX. To do this, use the VE.Direct cable. Check our price list.
- The BMV-600 family can connect to the VE.Direct ports of the CCGX. To do this, use the VE.Direct to BMV60xS cable. Check our price list.
- Lynx Ion + Derivative
- Lynx VE.Can shunt
- Skylla-i
- NMEA2000 Tank Sensors
- A USB GPS can be connected to the USB port. Location and speed will be visible on the screen and the data will be sent to the VRM Portal for location purposes. The map on the VRM will show the last position.
- USB WiFi Check our price list.
Please note that there are more options for products that use VE.Direct ports, such as BMVs and small MPPTs. They can also be connected via USB, very useful when you need to connect more than two products. Use a commercially available USB hub, and the VE.Direct to USB interface ASS030530000.
Outstanding features
- When connected to the internet, the CCGX automatically updates if a new software version is available.
- Multiple languages: English, Chinese, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Swedish and Dutch.
- Use the CCGX as a Modbus-TCP gateway to all connected Victron products. See our Modbus-TCP FAQ for more information.
Notes for current VGR2 and VER users
- Unlike the Victron Global Remote 2 (VGR2) and Victron Ethernet Remote (VER), the CCGX stores all data locally when network outages occur. As soon as the connection to the VRM Online Portal is restored, it will automatically send all saved data to the portal. Data can be analyzed at https://vrm.victronenergy.com.
- Remote VEConfigure is not yet supported by CCGX. This feature is expected to be available in Q1 2015. It will be even better than VGR2 and VER: you can change assistants and modify their settings.
- The local website, as presented by VER, is not yet supported.
- The CCGX does not have a GPRS modem: a SIM card cannot be inserted into the CCGX. Use a GPRS or 3G router available in stores. Check out our blog on 3G routers.
